Statement of James D. Stringer Candidate for re-election as
Orange County Commissioner of Precinct One
During the past 11 1/2 years I have been
honored to serve the people as Orange County Commissioner of
Precinct One. As a public official my duties not only involve
public service, but also public trust. During my terms in office I
have always endeavored to represent my constituents to the best of
my ability while being trustworthy in all decisions before me.
My desire to
represent the people of Precinct One and Orange County has prompted
my decision to seek a fourth term as Orange County Commissioner of
Precinct One in the March 4, 2008, democratic primaries.
The
significance of a Commissioners voice as a direct link from the
citizens of his precinct to the Court should never be
underestimated. The extension of this role includes always being
concerned and listening to any matter before the Court whether it
involves a single citizen, a group of citizens, a single county
employee, a total county department or matters effecting the entire
precinct or county.
The Orange
County Commissioners Court is a well balanced Court whose members
bring their own prospective and ideas to the citizens of the County
making the Court a unique working body. While we don’t always
agree, we are always business minded and solve the issues before us
in a business-like manner. This court, as a whole, stays above
pettiness and works together in a smooth operation to give the
citizens a well balanced, financially sound workable body.
I have a
lifetime of experience in local government having served as a
Justice of Peace, County Judge and Commissioner. I have a
professional background in real estate along with other business
ventures.
Since taking
office as your Commissioner I have continued my education and have
earned the designation of State Certified County Commissioner Court
Member.
During my terms
of office I have always maintained an open door policy and have been
available to any citizen or citizens wishing to meet with me.
I stand on my
record as a public servant and respectfully ask for you continued
support.
